This project consisted of a summer camp for young musicians in Tunisia from July 21 to 26, 2008. Fifty-five violinists, cellists, pianists, oudists, kanun players, and guitarists traveled to the Hotel Salwa in Borj Cedria and experienced private lessons, master classes, workshops, chamber music, chamber orchestra, and a cultural diplomacy forum. CiH provided faculty members Kimball Gallagher, piano; Sarah Crocker, Francesca Anderegg, and William Harvey, violins; Lilian Belknap, viola; and Robin Ryczek, cello. Presented in collaboration with the Association des Supporters de la Creation Musicale, the project was underwritten by the U.S. Embassy, which also arranged a press conference opened by H. E. Robert Godec, the U.S. Ambassador.
CiH also presented public concerts at the English Language Village in Nabeul and at the ancient Roman coliseum in El Jem, which is one of only two such coliseums still extant world-wide. CiH received extensive media coverage, including an appearance by founder and director William Harvey on Morning Breeze, the most popular morning television program in the country. Articles about the project appeared in Jetset, Le Temps, Realites, Tunisia Today, and Theatre Tunisien.
